Similar to traditional brats, our sausage and potato skillet recipe is made with sauerkraut and a mustard-vinaigrette dressing – but instead of pairing potato salad on the side, you get potatoes thrown right into the mix for a classic German skillet. Open a can of our hearty Whole White Potatoes to keep prep time to 5 minutes, then enjoy a finished meal that’s ready in less than half an hour.

Lists of ingredients:

  • For Vinaigrette Dressing:  
    2 Tablespoons whole grain mustard
    2 Tablespoon olive oil 
    1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup 

    For Bratwurst and Potatoes:
    1 Tablespoon olive oil 
    4 bratwurst sausages
    1 can (15 ounces) Green Giant® Whole White Potatoes, drained and halved
    1 cup sauerkraut 

STEPS

1 Stir vinaigrette ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside. 
2 Heat oil over medium in a large skillet for 2 minutes. Add bratwurst and cook for 5 minutes. Flip and cook 5 minutes longer or until fully cooked. Set aside on a cutting board to cool
3 Add potatoes to hot skillet and brown for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4 Slice sausage and return to skillet. Add sauerkraut and stir to combine. Cook for 2 minutes to heat through
5 Drizzle with vinaigrette dressing and serve hot.
