A TALL TALE
In 1925, the Minnesota Valley Canning Company launched a new canned pea product using a pea variety brought over from England known for its large size and tender texture. It was so distinctive, it was given the name Green Giant Great Big Tender Peas.
In 2025, Green Giant® celebrates 100 years since the launch of its iconic name and original giant peas. A century later, the brand continues to stand tall — delivering garden goodness with a giant-sized commitment to sustainability, innovation, and vegetable-loving families everywhere.
