Our jars and cans are made with more than 50% recycled glass or steel. After all, Green is our first name!

A TALL TALE

In 1925, the Minnesota Valley Canning Company launched a new canned pea product using a pea variety brought over from England known for its large size and tender texture. It was so distinctive, it was given the name Green Giant Great Big Tender Peas.

In 2025, Green Giant® celebrated 100 years since the launch of its iconic name and original giant peas. A century later, the brand continues to stand tall — delivering products with a giant-sized commitment to sustainability, innovation, and vegetable-loving families everywhere.
