Here’s a spicy corn recipe side dish that delivers the “swicy” (that’s sweet-meets-spicy) flavors everyone’s craving right now. Sautéing our White Shoepeg Corn in butter brings out its natural sweetness, and we round out that delicious flavor with a splash of maple syrup, a dash of hot sauce, and a handful of sweet-hot pickled Peppadew peppers for bright color and spicy-tangy flavor.

Lists of ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon butter
    1 can (7 ounces) Green Giant® Steam Crisp® White Shoepeg Corn, drained
    ½ teaspoon paprika
    ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    1 Tablespoon maple syrup
    1 dash of hot sauce
    4-5 Peppadew peppers, drained and chopped
    Chopped green onion or chives, for garnish

STEPS

1 Heat butter over medium in a small skillet. Add corn, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Sauté 3-4 minutes, stirring regularly.
2 Stir in maple syrup, hot sauce and peppadew peppers. Cook 1 minute longer.
3 Serve hot garnished with chopped green onion or chives.
